Professor Joseph Frederick, a renowned Jamaican obstetrician and gynecologist, has made significant strides in fertility care since the 1990s. With a passion for aiding women facing infertility, he pioneered the minimally invasive unit at UHWI, offering keyhole surgeries for certain infertility issues. Unsettled by the limitations in surgical solutions, Professor Joseph Frederick, alongside his wife Clotelle, ventured to the UK in 1998 to master Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). Their efforts bore fruit in 2001, marking the arrival of Jamaica's first IVF babies. Today, Professor Joseph Frederick leads a distinguished team in providing bespoke IVF services through a concierge unit, emphasizing personalized care. His work underscores his belief in Jamaica's capability to offer premier healthcare services, especially in fertility and reproductive goals, to the Caribbean community.
