I am Professor Joseph Frederick
Professor Joseph Frederick one of Jamaica’s world renown Obstetricians and gynecologists known for his extensive research in fertility preservation surgery, in the 1990s took an interest in helping women devastated by infertility achieve their lifelong goals.
He developed the minimally invasive unit at the Fertility Unit at UHWI. This was geared toward providing key hole surgeries for infertility issues which were surgically correctable. However, this wasn’t enough for him, because as a country we still were not able to help women who had infertility issues not amenable to surgery.
Our Story
Professor believed that being a small island on the map wasn’t an excuse for not being able reach our Caribbean population’s fertility needs. He and his wife Clotelle journeyed to the UK to learn the art of Assisted Reproductive Technology in 1998.
They subsequently introduced the science to a team of local doctors here in Jamaica and shortly after achieved their first IVF babies in 2001.
Professor Joseph Frederick has revolutionized fertility care in Jamaica and still helps thousands of Caribbean women and couples today. He has expanded his fertility service portfolio by developing a concierge IVF unit which focuses on exclusive and individualized assisted reproduction care for those couples who require world class service.
He now governs a well trained team of fertility specialists who offer private care in assisted Reproductive technology. His mantra has always been that no matter how small in size, Jamaica can achieve first class health care services in accomplishing reproductive goals.
